Protective Styling - Braids

January 1, 2013 I decided I wasn't going to sit in the barber chair in anymore but instead will let my hair grow out into a lovely fro like my mini me Deondrea and this picture is from 2011 ... she has NOT cut her hair so you know it's simply BEAUTIFUL now!!

I decided to put a collage together to track and show the growth of my hair over the first 5 months since my decision to grow:

and then there's June ... my curl pattern is to DIE for (in my opinion) and the back is something serious!

I'm 6 months in with this hair growth movement. I decided that while in VA on vacation I'd have my Aunt Shelly to braid my T.W.A. (teenie weenie afro). Although it didn't look like it I have some length up there but the shrinkage keeps holding me back! I arrived to VA on Sunday with a small fro ...

but come Monday afternoon I was PROTECTIVELY STYLED!!

Oh the life of a 'China mon'!! *laughs* I didn't realize just how much my hair was SNATCHED until I took my glasses off and saw the slighted, chingy eyes I had going on!

It only took my auntie 5 hours to create this masterpiece for me. I can not wait to see what the growth of my hair will be like once I've taken this down. I truly didn't realize how long my hair was until she braided it. I'll be sure to let you know how that goes when the time comes.
